Our colleague Matjaž Kuntner has co-authored a new editorial in Frontiers in Arachnid Science, introducing the journal's inaugural "Horizons in Arachnid Science" collection.

The editorial showcases a series of invited reviews by leading researchers covering some of the most exciting directions in contemporary arachnology. Topics range from spider evolution, taxonomy, behavior, and ecology to silk biomaterials, venom research, spider mites, and biotechnology. Together, these contributions demonstrate how research on spiders, scorpions, mites, and other arachnids increasingly connects fundamental biology with applications in medicine, agriculture, materials science, and conservation.

The collection offers an excellent overview of where arachnid science stands today and where it is heading next.
